Why the future queen reaches the back of the cupboard
Duchess Kate has now become a true style icon - with her royal outfits she thrills more and more fans at public appearances. Nobody would have expected that their clothes are partly years old.
December 25, 2014: When leaving the Christmas service Duchess Catherine looks as always dazzling in her chocolate-brown coat . What nobody knows: The good piece is already two years old when Kate wears it for the first time.
But why does the wife of Prince William put on old clothes ? Is it financially so bad about the British monarchy? Or was it just a slip-up? No, one thing can be said for sure: Duchess Catherine is not wearing an older outfit for the first time - and she is doing so with intention.
"I'm sure Kate finds it great that you can not buy her clothes when she wears them, " said Caroline Smiley, founder of the label that designed Kate's Christmas coat, in an interview with Daily Mail. So the Duchess's strategy is to kill two birds with one stone - she does not constantly trigger fashion hype with her purchases and certainly will not meet anyone who carries exactly the same.
