Visit to the cat healer

She is nervous, she bites. Why the otherwise docile cat reacts - completely unclear.

Totally stressed?

Does the cat healer know what Minni is missing?

Minni smelled fuses: she hides in the outermost corner behind the bed. My cat knows exactly what the cat basket in the hall means: in any case car ride, usually also a veterinarian. Nothing like her.

Today we have another destination. Minni travels in a basket with me to the Hamburg veterinary practitioner Nicole Schöfmann. She also calls herself "Cat Whisperer", says she can communicate with animals and has written a book about her gift. A one-hour session costs 70 euros. Cat scientist Schöfmann even wants to see the aura of a cat as colored flickering and recognize from it which physical complaints the animal has. Aura? Well. But I would like to know what's wrong with Minni. She looks so nervous. Beg for food, even though her bowl is filled. Bites me when I lovingly stroke her. I am at a loss. And I have a bad conscience. In the last few months, I often had to work long hours and then was too tired to play with her in the evenings. Cuddling - yes, we do that extensively. Then she purrs and feels good. But sometimes she looks at me as intently as if she wants to tell me something. Only what? Do you miss something physically?

Just before I enter Nicole Schöfmann's practice, I have doubts. I'll test her, best not to mention anything about Minni and me. If she can really do what she says, that will not be necessary. A slender, tall woman opens the door with a smile, her eyes narrow enough that her face really looks a bit like a cat. She looks at the basket from which Minni whines. We go into a small room, sit down on the floor, are with you immediately.

"Let her go now, " asks Nicole. Minni starts immediately. Eyes Nicole, looking around frantically, like a big cat. Suddenly she throws herself down and begins to brush her feet, then she yawns and hisses on it. "It's stressful, " says Nicole. But is that a miracle after driving? As if she had heard my thoughts, the behavioral expert explains, "She's fine, she's already forgotten about the transport, the new environment and the fact that we both pay attention to her, Minni is crazy and tries to relieve the stress. But she enjoys being here. " The stress should you like? As the?

There, I hardly believe it, my cat lies on his back, turns his head in my direction and begins to purr. "I advise you to buy another cat, Minni needs a girlfriend, " says Nicole. How she recognizes that? "That's what your cat tells me, she's under-challenged, lonely, she's longing for attention, she's alone all day, right?" I swallow. "I work full time, live alone." Nicole nods. Minni jumps up and clings to Nicole's legs, then throws herself and reaches for her hand with both front paws. Nicole pushes Minnis's buttocks back and forth, then pinches her until she jumps up and runs away. Does it have to be that way? "She wants experiences, you have to offer something, play with her until she can not anymore." I believe this woman. The way she deals with my cat shows me: she knows what she's doing. "If you push her to her limits, she'll accept you as pack leader." So she does not, how? Nicole explains what she sees. "You stroke her tenderly, and she bites you, she has more energy than you and dominates you with it."

The Cat Lover's Advice : "Get her on a cat leash and go out with her, she'll love that, let's run a pet movie DVD while you're gone, that's exciting for her." Then Nicole stops and looks at Minni. "I see the risk for urinary stones, you give her tinned food?" Hit. But how does she want to know that with the urinary stones? "I can tell from her aura, it's a bit flickering in the urinary area, otherwise everything's okay." Nicole advises me on a special food that cats can digest better. An hour is over quickly. At home, Minni clings expectantly to my legs. Unfortunately, I have to go to the sport. Or? No! I see Minnis eyes sparkle, laugh at her and chase her around the apartment until we both lie exhausted but happy on my bed.

A second cat is too much for me. But I'll buy a cat harness and healthy food tomorrow. I'm glad about what Nicole "whispered" to me. I'm getting better, Minni!
