The birth of the first child is a highlight in every expectant mother's life she never forgets. Of course, everything will be well prepared for that. And in addition to the many decisions on how the nursery is set up, whether the dad must really be present at each preparation course and what color the crib may have, the choice of the birthplace is a challenge.
How do you think Duchess Kate (31) and her husband Prince William (30)? Should the little heir to the throne be born in the hospital where Kate spent the first weeks of her pregnancy due to the morning sickness? Or is one even deciding on a home birth ?
That would not be very unlikely. Although home births are not a thing of the past, they are becoming more and more popular. Many pregnant women simply want to get their baby in an environment that is familiar to them, in which they feel comfortable. At home, people can be around someone you love most. No strangers are at the birth bed, but the family.
With the help of midwives, a home birth is a safe, largely risk-free experience. And Duchess Kate would not have to worry about curious hospital staff snooping around.
When deciding on a home birth Kate is certainly also supported by Queen Elizabeth (86). For this too has given birth to each of her four children at home in the palace. In an atmosphere in which she feels comfortable and secure.
