David Holmes is just 16 years old when his father gives him his very first motorcycle. In 2013, at the age of only 38, David dies. The reason for his early death: a motorcycle accident on the A47 in Norfolk, UK. David drove very fast - too fast. An oncoming car caught the man because the driver did not see him in time. David also had no chance to avoid it.
David filmed the last seconds of his life
His last ride on the bike and also the collision filmed David Holmes with a helmet camera . His family has now released this clip to warn other racers of the dangers. They hope that David's fate will be a lesson to them. To put it in the words of David's mother, who lost her beloved son far too soon: "drive slower motorcyclists!" It was not easy for David's parents to share the video. Because the loss of her son hurts a lot. After his death, Brenda Holmes and her husband often wondered if they would rather have David buy a motorcycle. But the joy he had for 22 years of driving, they would not want to take him.
The car driver who was involved in the accident was convicted. But the police also see part of the blame for David. He took a great risk with the high speed of 160 km / h. In cooperation with the Holmes family, she is now calling for more safety on the streets.
