Do you curl up in bed like a fetus in the womb? Or are you lying on your back with your arms pressed tightly against your body like a tin soldier? The way you sleep reveals a lot about you!

What the sleeping position reveals about you, you will find in the gallery!

Professor Chris Idzikowska from the Edinburgh Sleep Research Center has conducted a survey of 1, 000 volunteers, exploring the relationship between sleep position and personality. The most prevalent is the fetus situation, in which more than forty percent of people fall asleep - especially women. Least prone is the prone position, where the sleeping person embraces his pillow.

Sleep position affects health

Our sleeping position also affects your health. The fetus position, where we lie on the right side of the body, is considered to be especially healthy because there is no pressure on the heart.

Snoring Soldiers: According to research, starfish or soldier positions promote snoring and respiratory problems, cause sleep disturbances, and can lead to a sensitive stomach. The reason for this is that these reclining positions are not good for digestion. On the back, small particles from the stomach can be excreted worse through the mouth.

It is also interesting that we remain true to our sleeping position - because only five percent of people change their posture during the night.
