She always wanted only one thing: to be the mother of a son. And finally, the great wish of the Crown Princess ...
Suppliers had come all day long. From the fine children's furniture store in the center of Madrid, a bed in the form of a knight's castle was delivered, a decorator brought several roles light blue wallpaper and carpets.
Yes, there is no doubt that a children's room will be refurbished in the palace of the Spanish prince family!
In itself, that would not be surprising, after all, Princess Letizia (40) and her husband Felipe (44) have two daughters. But Leonor (7) and Sofia (5) are better known for loving the color pink and princesses and fairies.
What does all this mean, the passers-by wondered and whispered excitedly. Until an employee of the Zarzuela Palace told them the secret, "This will be the room of Letizia's son!"
But that only made for even more amazement: Letizia was slender on her last appearance, not even the approach of a baby tummy was seen. That's not what an expectant mother looks like.
When asked, the employee said: " Felipe and Letizia do not have their own child, they adopt a little boy." And he chatted a long-kept secret.
How happy must Letizia feel! So long had she wished for a son ! She had shed so many tears because her dream did not come true!
It was the doctors who had advised the delicate princess of a third pregnancy. Too big a risk for her own life would have been, after many complications had occurred during the other pregnancies. Letizia succumbed to her health. Only husband Felipe guessed what it really looked like inside her.
If the palace employee is right, Letizia and Felipe will be five in the coming summer. It takes until all formalities have been completed. And there is always the danger that something else can go wrong.
But Princess Letizia should not be overwhelmed by this fear. She needs patience now and will spend the time preparing for her new happiness.
