Maite Kelly "I lived like a prison

I lived like in a prison

Since childhood, Maite Kelly and her siblings have been in the limelight as a member of the Kelly Family. Even then, the little blonde stood out - by her overweight.

"I grew up in an artist family where there were no regular meals", the "Let's Dance" winner tries to explain her weight problems in an interview with "Bild am Sonntag". "There was not a mom taking care of such things. Maybe I got a substitute meal satisfaction. " For years, Maite Kelly suffered from a eating disorder. The singer ate too much - or starved - to process the missing sense of community, the ever-changing places of residence, and the early death of her beloved mother. "Such a eating disorder is a prison, " says Maite Kelly. A prison from which she did not come out alone. She sought help from a therapist and went to a dietician. Today, she lives on a nutritional program and has her doctor checked every six months. "I'm fit, " says Maite Kelly. And she hopes it will stay that way.
