Mysterious voice calls for help
A tragic story that really gets under your skin: miraculously, 18-month-old Lily survives a fatal car accident.
Young mother Jennifer Groesbeck was in her car with her 18-month-old daughter Lily on a Friday evening on the way back from a meal with her dad. Suddenly, the car started to spin and fell headlong from a bridge into the freezing Spanish Fork River in Utah. Since the scene of the accident was not visible from the street, Jennifer and her daughter were discovered the next day by an angler who immediately alerted the emergency services.
When police and rescue workers arrived on the spot, 7 men immediately took to the river to search the car for survivors. The water was so cold that everyone involved had to be treated later for hypothermia. With a thermal imaging camera, they first look for survivors and can not discover anything. Suddenly policeman Jared Warner heard a call for help from a woman. Together, the seven men turned the car around in the waist-deep water and soon after discovered the lifeless body of the 25-year-old mother, who had not survived the night in icy water.
Miraculously, 18-year-old Lily survived. Their child seat had saved them from drowning, head over heels was protected from the icy waters and could only survive. Unconscious and with a strong hypothermia, she would immediately taken to the nearest hospital. The little fighter recovered after only a few days.
Call for help gives up puzzles
But if the mother was already dead and little Lily unconscious, who called for help? Policeman Tyler Beddoes believes he knows the answer: " Little Lily was rescued by her guardian angel, who helped her through the bitterly cold night and summoned us in the morning."
The mysterious story has since been confirmed by four forces on the ground. "A woman's voice called loud and clear for help, " said police officer Bryan Dewitt on record. "Without this cry for help, we would not have searched so feverishly, let alone turned the car over."
Whether the guardian angel in the form of her mother came to the little Lily or not, the cry for help has saved the little one's life in any case, a fact for which her friend and the father of the little ones will be eternally grateful.
