Naughty squirrel

What could be better than tinkering with the gifts of nature? From hazelnuts and pine cones we make sweet squirrels. Join in!

You need this:

For the squirrel made of hazelnuts:

  • 2 hazelnuts
  • Chenille wire brown (craft shop, about 2 euros)
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
  • Black fineliner

For the squirrel made of pine cones:

  • Nail drill 3 mm (craft shop, about 6 euros)
  • 1 chestnut
  • toothpick
  • 1 small pinecone
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
  • Wackelaugen
  • Edding black and white (craft shop, each about 2 euros)
  • Spring brown (craft shop about 2 euros)
  • Tonzeichenpapier brown (craft shop, about 3 euros)
  • scissors

And that's how easy it is:

For the squirrel made of hazelnuts:

1. Fasten two hazelnuts with the pointed side forward with hot glue.

2. Cut the chenille wire into 2 approx. 3.5 cm, 2 approx. 0.5 cm and approx. 15 cm long piece.

3. Gently glue the two short pieces to one of the hazelnuts with hot glue as ears. Form the two medium-long pieces into arms and glue them sideways between the hazelnuts. Bend the long piece in the middle and bend two feet at the ends. These should not be too short for the squirrel to stand. Attach from behind with hot glue to the hazelnuts.

4. Paint eyes with black fineliner.

For the squirrel made of pine cones:

1. Drill a hole in the chestnut with the nail drill. Bring a toothpick to the correct length and place it in the hole, then connect it to the pine cone and, if necessary, fix it with hot glue.

2. Stick loose eyes on the chestnut and surround with white edding. Paint a mouth with the black edding.

3. Insert a spring at the back between the scales of the pin and glue it if necessary.

4. On the tone paper paper hand, draw 6 half circles drawn for ears, arms and feet. Make sure that the ears are smaller than the arms and the arms are smaller than the feet.

5. Use the black pen to draw three strokes on the arms and feet as indicated paws, then draw the inside of the ears with the white edding.

6. Stick on ears, arms and feet. The ears are easier to fix when you bend over a piece of paper at the bottom.
