Misconceptual youth delusion

It is a questionable development: The TV channels cancel more and more pop and folk music broadcasts. Youngest victim: Hansi Hinterseer (59).

Despite quotas of three and four million viewers came the TV-out . Ironically, on his 59th birthday, Hansi Hinterseer had to watch his last TV show at home with his family - "Hansi Hinterseer - Winter Dream in Schladming".

"I would have loved to continue, " Hansi Hinterseer told BILD. But the ARD was not convinced of the format despite good odds. Just why?

Striking: More and more hits and folk music is banished from the TV. Just now the "crown of folk music" (for now) was taken out of the program. Previously, the "Grand Prix of Folk Music", the "Funny Musicians" and the "Street of Songs" had to give way to other formats.

The problem: The programs reach the young target group only limited. The look supposedly rather "hip" TV formats. But a look at the Facebook pages of the hit stars and folk music stars testify otherwise. Pop music and folk music are trendy.

The best example: Heino (74). With his new album "Sincerely, " he set a digital record and took the lead in the "Download Trend Charts".

The demand is so. So are the TV channels only chasing after a misconceived juvenile delusion? Who will be the next victim?

Maybe younger stars like Florian Silbereisen (31) will be able to persuade the TV stations to rethink again before hits and folk music disappear completely from television ...
