If someone has taken the saying "sex sells" to heart, then it's Tom Ford . For the 2015 summer season, the designer showed sparkling nipple pasties for evening wear, bra dresses and XL leg slits for hold-up stocking, gold lamb and sequins. Short: 70's groupie chic with nightclub attitude.
What we're asking at the sight of these nude dresses: Are these brief looks perhaps intended as a statement to the so-called "Free the Nipple" movement ? Celebrities like Cara Delevingne, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus or Scout Willis are likely to enjoy the less-is-more outfits. They posted liberal pictures of themselves on Instagram over the past few months to campaign for women's equal rights - and designer Tom Ford also sent dresses onto the London Fashion Week runway that show more than they veil.
The new collection also recalls Tom Ford's beginnings with Gucci . In 1990, the designer joined the Italian label. At that time, nobody would have even dreamed of wearing Gucci. A big risk for Tom Ford. But with a lot of talent and a great deal of provocation he made the dusty label in a short time the most coveted in Italy.
