Dog corner, bowl & dog tag

Wauzi and Kitty could use a new blanket, a cup or a dog tag again? Here are the DIY instructions.

What you need for the dog blanket:

Fabric requirements:

  • Dark blue corduroy fabric: 80 x 50 cm plus 1 cm seam allowance per side (for the back of the pillow)
  • 2 strips a 4 x 74 cm plus 1 cm seam allowance per side
  • 2 strips a 6 x 46 cm plus 1 cm seam allowance per side
  • gray wide cord:
  • 2 strips a 10 x 50 cm plus 1 cm seam allowance per side
  • 2 strips a 17 x 32 cm plus 1 cm seam allowance per side
  • orange cotton fabric:
  • 33 x 21 cm plus 1 cm seam allowance per side Volume fleece 80 x 50 cm (fabric department)
  • tape measure
  • fabric scissors
  • pins
  • Sewing machine and matching yarn
  • sewing needle
  • possibly buttons or zipper

That's how it's done:

1. Fold the fabric pieces for the front of the pillow into the photo and stitch them together on the seam allowance right to right. In each case note the offset. Sew all edges together.

2. Place the large blue piece of fabric for the back on the right side of the patchwork side and attach it to the patchwork side. Sew all edges except for a 25 cm wide turning slot.

3. Turn the pillow over and fill with the fleece.

4. Close the opening with needle and thread. Alternatively, sew buttons or a zipper.
