Colorful flowers

You can always use a stool as a universal piece of furniture - whether as a side table or a seat. Colorful stool makes the stool even more.

That's what you need for the stool cases:

  • Fabric (eg "Varese" by Sanderson) according to the stool size
  • matching sewing thread
  • tape measure
  • possibly tailor's chalk for marking
  • scissors
  • sewing machine
  • pins

And that's how easy it is:

1. Cut five pieces of fabric for the cover plate of the cover and the four sides according to the stool size plus 1 cm seam allowance on each side or on the four side parts at the bottom 3 cm for the seam. Example: For a 38 x 39 x 39 cm case, you will need a square for the 41 x 41 cm top panel and four 41 x 42 cm side panels.

2. Lay two sides right-to-right, pin them together, and sew them together on one long side.

3. Unfold the two parts and slightly topstitch the seam allowances left and right of the seam.

4. Sew all side panels together to form a tube.

5. Place the cover plate on the sewing machine with the right side up. Place the tube from the side panels right to the right on the cover plate so that the upper edges can be sewn all around and the rest of the tube comes to rest on the cover plate. Sew on the upper edges of the side panels all around the top panel. Sew seam allowances on both sides again.

6. For the hem of the cover cast in the lower edge twice by 1.5 cm in each case and stitch off.

7. Pull the cover over the stool.
