The carpets of today are incredibly diverse - there are no limits to creativity, and technically almost everything is possible. So it's not easy to decide what to lay down at your feet! Here is some necessary information.

For those who value natural living, carpets made of vegetable fibers are also an option. These include sisal and coconut in the first place. Sisal is derived from the fleshy leaves of agave, coconut from the fiber cushions of coconut. Both are very strong fibers, which makes the carpets particularly durable. Who goes barefoot, gets a foot massage for free. However, for crawling children, these somewhat rough carpets are nothing. But they are wonderfully light and elastic and easy to care for.
Rarely do you find jute, cotton and linen that need to be specially treated before they can be made into carpets. They give the carpet a light, cool touch. Due to their smooth fabric structure, they are considered to be particularly dirt-repellent, making them a good choice for allergy sufferers.
And then there is paper yarn ! It is made from twisted strips of wrapping paper and made into dense fibers. The other materials are in terms of durability in no way. It is resistant to abrasion, moisture and thanks to its high density against dust and dirt - an important aspect that allergy sufferers should consider.
Carpets made of natural fibers are not exactly cheap. Synthetic fibers such as polyamide, polyacrylic etc. offer a good alternative. These fibers are visually hardly distinguishable from natural ones and are considered very durable. But since they can hardly absorb moisture, they tend to charge electrostatically and attract dirt. Here one tries to counteract with special equipments.
And finally, something special: fibers made of rubber, leather or laces give long-pile carpets new aspects - funky variants in strong colors. And for fur lovers, new creations are offered, from faux fur or cow, even shrill Popfarben.
