New educational video from Sweden provides criticism
Penis and vagina as colorful cartoon characters: This supposedly child-friendly educational video from Sweden was not well received by many parents.
Because the editors of the Swedish television station SVT thought that there would be a need for a child-friendly educational video in their children's program, they commissioned the production of the video below. The clip shows colorful penises and sheaths dancing and singing together. They wear hats, sunglasses, bows and microphones.
After the reconnaissance clip was broadcast for the first time, it hailed for the public broadcaster on Facebook criticism. Some parents are pissed off by the colorful cartoon. They do not see why their little children should be confronted with such content and tell the channel their opinion on Facebook.
For example, one user writes, "You should be ashamed to encourage children to look at such things." What's next? Porn for babies? Hello SVT! Is that your next target? "
But not all users share this opinion about the dancing penises and vaginas. Part of the parents also supports the decision of the broadcaster SVT to publish such a video. They believe that the cartoons and the song are well-chosen to playfully introduce children to a normal and everyday topic.
Kajsa Peters, the program's project manager, told the Swedish newspaper Expressen that the reconnaissance video was made because the station's viewers showed interest in the subject. Her hope is "that the song makes it easier for parents to talk to their children about the penis and vagina." Here really can not be spoken of a bad idea.
We think that this cute educational video does not have to be a cause for excitement. There is a very different content that small children should not be confronted with.
