Unusual source of inspiration

Most parents praise their children for their painting skills and later hang the pictures on the fridge. But not Ruth Oosterman. She turns the doodles of her little daughter into true works of art!

Eve is two and loves to paint. Her creativity is limitless when she is allowed to let off steam with a pen on a large sheet of paper. A line here, a line there, a big circle in the middle - the masterpiece is ready! At least almost. From the doodles of her two-year-old daughter, Ruth Oosterman makes true works of art. The artist uses the confused drawings as a template to create something new out of it. The fantastic results and their creation she posts on her blog "The Mischievous Mommy" and on her Youtube channel.

"I try to work fast and let my imagination run wild instead of taking it too seriously. That way I can use Eve's drawing without turning her into an adult, " explains the artist. Ruth Oosterman hopes one day to paint with her daughter and make exhibitions. But until then she uses her scribbles as a special source of inspiration and enjoys spending time with her. A great mother-daughter-team!

In the video you can see the genesis of one of her works:
