Colorful floral prints give our home a romantic and playful atmosphere. Here are 4 simple DIY ideas with free instructions.

You need this for the duvet cover:

  • Firm cotton fabric, 2.20 m (double width of 1.40 m)
  • Zipper, 1.80 m, (haberdashery)
  • tape measure
  • French chalk
  • fabric scissors
  • pins
  • Sewing machine and matching yarn

And that's how easy it is:

1. Cut two pieces of fabric á 214 x 104 cm (2 cm seam allowance included) and put them right side on top.

2. Sew up the two short and one long side with 2 cm seam allowance, trim over the edges.

3. Pin the zipper with pins on the open side and sew in, then apply the cover.

4. Pull the cover over the mattress.

What you need for the staple bag:

  • 0.4 m cotton fabric with floral pattern (double layered)
  • Kinderkleiderbügel
  • 40 cm band in pink
  • ruler
  • French chalk
  • fabric scissors
  • pins
  • Sewing machine and matching yarn

And that's how easy it is:

1. Cut both pieces of fabric (40 cm x 30 cm) and staple right sides together.

2. Place the clothes hanger with the upper edge of the wood on the upper edge of the fabric.

3. Draw along the top with chalk.

4. The outer edges of the stirrup give the width of the staple bag. Draw this with ruler on the right and left.

5. Cut out the marked shape with a seam allowance of 2 cm.

6. Cut a slit of 20 cm length horizontally into a fabric layer in the middle.

7. Sew off the parts all around, finish over the edges. Turn fabric through the slot.

8. Halve the bias binding and stitch onto the open slot edges.

9. Cover the sides of the bias binding with a zigzag stitch.

  • Different floral fabrics (scraps of fabric)
  • Dried lavender flowers (from the florist)
  • ruler

  • Zigzag scissors
  • Sewing machine and matching yarn

And that's how easy it is:

1. Cut fabric 10 x 10 cm with the zigzag scissors.

2. Stack parts left to left and stitch them all around - except for a small opening - with a seam allowance of 2 cm each.

3. Fill bag with lavender flowers and also stitch the opening.

What you need for the cosmetic bag:

  • Computer, printer and paper
  • 30 cm oilcloth with floral pattern (double laid)
  • 30 cm lining material in pink (double layered)
  • 30 cm zip in pink
  • paper scissors
  • French chalk
  • fabric scissors
  • pins
  • Sewing machine and matching yarn

And that's how easy it is:

1. Download, print and cut pattern.

2. Cut 4 x into the fabric break (2 x outside pocket, 2 x lining), pin and draw with tailor's chalk, adding 2 cm seam allowance, then cut out.

3. For each piece, stitch together the short corner edges, then place pieces right to right and stitch the bottom and side edges.

4. Turn both pieces of fabric back to the right.

5. Iron the upper edges of the lining 1 cm to the outside, with the outer fabric 1 cm inwards.

6.Put pieces of fabric together so that the lining is inside.

7. Place a zippered side between the folded edges, fix with needles and stitch. Repeat on the left side.

8. Seal the zipper end with a cross seam, cut back excess and lay inside.
