The number of doctors and medical facilities that offer acupuncture for rheumatism is increasing. However, since the treatment with the needles is an alternative cure, the costs of acupuncture are often not covered by the health insurance. However, some of the statutory health insurances pay for needle treatment for rheumatic pains in the lumbar spine or knee joints. It is best to inform yourself well in advance of the alternative therapy.
