In the heart of the heart

Film Tip

Take an aging, former popstar with bondage fears and a young, lively, casual jobgirl still hanging on her ex-boyfriend - the romantic relationship comedy this spring is ready. If then Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore take over the lead roles, nothing can go wrong!

Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) is a failed 1980s singer who has since made waves through appearances in retroshows and amusement parks. With his former band "PoP" it hailed gold records, his solo debut, however, is a real shopkeeper. Thanks to manager Chris (Brad Garett), Alex has the unique opportunity to make a comeback: write a duet for reigning pop princess Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) and put it together with her. Unfortunately, Alex has not composed for years and has never written a lyrics. By a happy coincidence, Sophie Fischer (Drew Barrymore) comes into his life: As a new domestic help she is responsible for the supply of his plants. In her quirky way, she gets involved in the work of the composer and his copywriter and surprisingly proves extraordinary talent. Fletcher is enthusiastic about Sophie's ideas and engages her for the song project. The two get closer to each other on the piano, but come back from stubbornness again and again. It takes some time until they realize what they really feel for each other.

Your movie ticket pays for itself in the first five minutes of the movie: the video clip shot in the style of the eighties is absolutely successful. His sound goes straight to his ear and the guys from "PoP" make every viewer smile involuntarily. The zeitgeist of the wild eighties was hit 100 percent and with some weird settings you can not help but laugh.

Hugh Grant mimics the not very dewy singer with stunning self-irony. The wonderfully tormented expression after a sexy dance performance, in which he has slightly exaggerated the hip swing, speaks volumes. His handling of the screaming - now more than adult - fans shows that he is tired of the hype around his person. Actually, he is a really nice guy. You notice that at the latest when he cares about Sophie, who just ran into her ex. Click here for the trailer on the official website
