Transgender is favorite for Men's Health Contest
Aydian Dowling is the name of the leading Ultimate Guy in the Men's Health Contest. He could become the first transgender model on the cover.
With glowing eyes, he looks into the camera and wraps around both male and female with his smile around his finger. And if that were not enough, the radiant face is complemented by a muscular body, adorned by several tattoos and a lip piercing. Aydian Dowling is the readers' favorite of this year's Men's Health Contest and a transgender.
Every year, the notorious competition of the magazine starts. This time it looks like Aydian Dowling will be the new "Ultimate Guy" of Men's Health! The contest consists of two parts. While the readers are first given the choice, jurors make the final decision.
For Aydian Dowling, it's not just some competition. The contest helps him to find himself. He compares the many voices with a little message from the universe: He is on the right track. That's Dowling indeed!
When he's not in the Men's Health Cover Contest, Dowling spends time-how about this body being different-at the gym or walking with his wife. But the way was not always easy. He remembers times when he had to muster a lot of courage to go to the gym as a transgender. Before he started his hormone therapy, his self-confidence suffered from constant comparisons with other men he often found too small, too masculine.
It's different today. At the moment it looks good for the handsome guy . With four times as many votes as its competitors, Dowling heads the contest. The odds are not so bad that he will be the first transgender on the cover of Men's Health!
