Small but nice

Various shades of green mixed with yellow, silver, pink or red, pointed or lush leaves with or without leaf drawing - the dwarf pepper is a plant with many faces.

The dwarf pepper, botanically named "Peperomia", is a genus within the pepper family. The approximately 1, 700 species of ornamental leaf plant are widespread almost everywhere in the tropics, primarily in the Amazon region of South America.

The houseplant is considered a lucky charm and is known in our latitudes under names such as green lentil, crocodile tears or rat tail. The reason for this is their varied appearance: The leaves of the dwarf pepper not only vary in different shades of green, but can also be patterned in yellow, red, pink or silver. They are sometimes smooth, sometimes structured and often layered in the structure, which makes the plant look full and lively. Some dwarf pepper even bloom with strong green stems that look like happy braids.

The dense structure of the dwarf pepper absorbs noise, making the plant in the house more calm. If several plants are combined, the green foliage also purifies the air. Handcrafted materials such as ceramics, cotton, linen or glass are particularly suitable for the easy-care feel-good plant. Round, flat plates, bright and friendly containers or terracotta pots harmonize with the diversified look of the minced pepper.

care Tips

The dwarf pepper is a good entry-level plant for people who do not have a green thumb, because the houseplant does not need much care - "loving neglect" is their motto. Dwarf pepper prefers a bright, at best not fully sunny location. When watering care should be taken to ensure that the pot bales never completely dried out and no water is added to the leaf.
