True love knows no age

Vivian Boyack and Alice Dubes are of the opinion that it is never too late for a change. After more than 70 years of relationships, the couple in Iowa took the floor.

It is a love that we usually only find in fairy tales. 91-year-old Vivian Boyack and her newly wedded wife Alice, Nonie 'Dubes (92) met in the 1940s. Their love lasts longer than many human lives. The lesbian couple has been a solid and loving unit for 72 years.

Together, Vivian and Alice toured all 50 states of the United States. In Canada, they have already looked around every province. They traveled to England together twice. Now the two women dared to open a new chapter in their lives. On September 6, Vivian Boyack and Alice Dubes in Iowa gave the nod.

The wedding took place in the smallest circle in the presence of the closest relatives and friends. Pastor Linda Hunsaker, who trusted the two women, said during the ceremony, "There is something going on here that should have happened long ago." So reports the Quad City Times. The fact that Vivian and Alice have waited so long until they gave the yes-word last Saturday, perhaps also has to do with the fact that same-sex marriages in Iowa only since the year 2009 are possible.

But Vivian and Alice prove that it's never too late to take another step in life. True love, as they share it, knows no age. We could not say better than Jerry Yeast, a longtime friend of the couple, "I've known these women all my life, and I can tell you, they're special."
