Wüschebeutel with melon application

2 hours

  • white cotton fabric 42 cm wide x 108 cm long
  • pink cotton fabric of 30 x 40 cm
  • green-white checked cotton fabric of approx. 30 x 20 cm
  • 90 cm cotton cord (haberdashery)
  • double-sided adhesive fleece (haberdashery)
  • scissors
  • Iron
  • pins
  • Sewing machine and sewing thread

1.

For a bag length of 50 cm put the fabric in the middle to break (saves a seam). Seam allowance for the drawstring total 8 cm.

2. Iron the double-sided adhesive fleece on the pink fabric for the melon slices.

3. Draw 6 melon slices of approx. 13 cm in length on the backing side of the fleece.

4. Cut out the melon slices.

5. Iron double-sided adhesive on the checkered fabric.

6. The already cut out melon slices serve as a template to record the size of the bowls.

7. Cut out "checkered" trays.

8. Place the melon slices and shells on the fabric, remove the foil from the adhesive fleece and iron on.

9. Now the bag can be sewn ready: The width is 42 cm including seam allowance. Turn fabric to the left and close one side seam. Approximately 4 cm below the upper open edge, sew 2 buttonholes with buttonholes at a distance of 4-5 cm.

10. For drawstring, fold over top edge of bag, pin and sew (buttonholes must now be on the outside of the bag).

11. Pull the drawstring cord with a safety pin.

12. Merge fabric on the left.

13. Pull out the cord at the bottom of the bag and close the side seam.
