The general practitioner and Naturopath has a private practice in Bad Homburg. Here she will advise you.
LOW BLOOD PRESSURE: WHAT TO DO - AND ALSO AVOID - SHOULD
When I get up quickly or bend over, I feel like I'm about to faint. But I'm only 35 years old. My doctor thinks that is harmless. Is that correct?
Marie P. (35), HöxterReply from Dr. Bracht:
I guess so. Young women often have low blood pressure. This is certainly the cause of dizziness. This is because when you change a position, for example from lying to standing, too little blood gets into the brain. It comes thereby to a short-term Unterversorgung with oxygen, which is however harmless. But because our body is very smart, it alerts us to dizziness. And this is how you stabilize your circulatory system: drink enough, preferably one and a half liters a day, do regular endurance sports, go to the sauna from time to time and have a cold shower.RELAXATION RELAXATION: THAT GOES ALSO BETWEEN THE DESK
I heard about muscle relaxation exercises that I am supposed to do in the office because of my neck. How does that work?
Lara D. (38), MoersReply from Dr. Bracht:
Your question is very important in order to survive long working days at the desk. Actually, it is not done with a single exercise; but this one is effective and will do you good: set yourself up from the usually habitual slumped sitting position by going clearly into the hollow cross. At the same time, put your fingertips to your ears and your elbows at shoulder height. Now pull your arms far back. They come even more into the hollow cross. If your back is low enough, lean back over it, very carefully. Leave the body like that. Pull the tip of your nose as far as possible in the direction of the belly button, with the fingers separating from the ears. It is best to do the exercise once every hour for two minutes each. That relaxes!SODBRENNES: SWEET AND BOLD MEIDEN
Heartburn has been bothering me for more than a month. Where does it come from and what can I do about it?
Ursula R. (56), KarlsruheReply from Dr. Bracht:
Directly in front of the stomach, the esophagus passes through the diaphragm. An annular sphincter at the end of this tube normally prevents the chyme already present in the stomach from flowing upwards again. If something of the acidic stomach contents comes out, for example, if the stomach is too full and the muscle does not close completely, it causes heartburn . My recommendation for heartburn : Avoid fatty, difficult to digest foods as well as alcohol and nicotine. Because all of this makes the sphincter relax. Temporarily sweeten desserts from your diet. Because they lead to increased production of stomach acid. Tip: Drink a glass of potato juice before each meal (health food store). This neutralizes the acid and soothes the heartburn .YOUR RIGHT AS A PATIENT
What does the cashier pay? When am I entitled to compensation? Good, if you know his right
DOCTOR IS NOT LIABLE AUTOMATICALLY
Against my knee pain, I got a joint agent sprayed. Now the joint has become inflamed. My doctor is now to blame, right?
Emelie W., singingYou have to prove a possible fault of your doctor. In a similar case, a patient complained that the syringe used had not been clean, or that the doctor had not disinfected his hands. Since the patient could not prove this, he lost the compensation process. (Az .: 8 U 143/96)
TREATMENT PAID BY SON?
At the weekend I visited my son in Hamburg. He is a doctor and treated my acute bronchitis. Now the cash register refuses to pay the costs.
Rosi H., LeutkirchShe can do that too. According to the judgment of the Federal Court of Justice, this limitation of performance is permissible. The person insured normally has the option of being medically treated in the same way by doctors with whom he is not related. The clause, the court ruled, does not disadvantage the insured. The regulation is designed to prevent treatment without medical necessity. (Ref .: IV ZR 11/00)
DECLARATION OF CHEAP THERAPY
My wife had to undergo cancer therapy. Now the cashier does not want to pay the costs. Justification: There would be a more favorable treatment.
Michael H., TrierThe attending physician must educate his patients about all possible forms of therapy. It is not right to offer treatment to patients with cancer if the costs are only covered by the health insurance in individual cases. The doctor is obliged to inform the patient in detail and beforehand.
