Creative works of art made of leather

Sofas, shoes, bags - leather can do much more than that. Our DIY ideas make creative works of art from the material. Here are our instructions.

Time on the hook

For the decorative wall clock, paint the outside edge of a MDF blank (eg via Idee-shop.com, approx. 13 €) with acrylic paint in pink and let it dry. Punch holes in the ends of a 1 cm wide, 80 cm long leather strap with small hole punches, fasten straps with padded nails to the watch.

Candlestick "Torso", natural oak, 12 cm high, approx. 19 €: Applicata. Wire bowl "TaleI", metal, 29 x 21 x 31 cm, about 65 €: Serax about the laundry. Rest: private

Cable salad Ade!

Whether headphones or charger, with knots in fine cables is now over . For the holders, double the leather residue and cut out small triangles (6.5 cm side length). Sew on the top of the lower triangle with leather needle and embroidery thread a wooden bead, which fits as a button through the carved with a craft knife slot in the overlying tip.

From searching and finding

The geometric pendant eases the often desperate search for the keychain by cutting a piece of leather with a utility knife and ruler on a solid surface to form a triangle. Punch a hole in the upper tip, insert the eyelet and push it carefully with the hammer. Prescribe names, trace with leather paint (eg Viva Decor, approx. 6 €) and a fine brush, allow to dry.

Tray "Marble", about 30 €: Broste Copenhagen. Rest: private

Pile up or hang up

Our collection of noble Brotzeitbrettchen piles up either on the table or finds a place of honor on the wall. Adjust leather scraps to the thickness of the wooden boards, cut to size and punch a hole in the ends. Hammer with upholstery nails on the short edges of the boards.

Caution hot!

If you make the practical cuff after, you can save this sentence in the future. Leather to match the glass ( Attention: This should be tapered for better grip ) cut, round off the ends slightly. Wrap the strips tightly around the glass, mark the position, remove it again and bring it to the cuff without glass. Punch four holes through the both ends of the rectangle and sew the cuff together with a cross stitch. Crop handles, punch two holes at each end, place around the cuff and sew with embroidery thread. Put the cuff over the glass.

Tea-egg "boat", porcelain / metal, 5 x 5 cm, approx. 13 €: Wheels. Rest: private
