How do we get rid of the ugly eighties?

Author Marlene Sørensen clarifies questions of good taste. Of course, extremely subjective. This time it's about: dress separation

The most important word in fashion is "yes".

I use it liberally, currently in ankle boots, military coats and the amazingly affable Jodhpurs, in these therefore in three versions: beige, cream and ocher. Yes Yes Yes!

The second most important word is "no".

These, like any, season I say no to the 80s. They take place with irritating regularity, whenever the fashion creators have already chanted through the other decades and decide in their perplexity: Go! Plastic clothes! In cough syrup colors! With lightning on it! Hurray! The Londoners, who are known to do everything and all others are known to imitate everything, took the trend first.

Just in the Club BoomBox, today already in the queue at the Schanzenbäcker:

colorful skinny jeans, lurex socks, slogan shirts, fingerless gloves, golden leggings, did I mention colorful skinny jeans? After a double espresso I went to American Apparel and five minutes later I was in acute desperation with a body in the locker room. A body. Made of nylon. In purple.

"But it's American Apparel, American Apparel is cool!" Said a voice, mine. "You look like 14, " reason said. "A cool 14-year-old?" "No, like the 14-year-old who went in red jeans and bodysuit for the birthday of her 17-year-old cousin, who wore all the palisuches, just like the 17-year-olds of today do you want to go through that again?"

I gasped on my heels and called to reassure my friend Annabelle, who, as it turned out, already had a body. But only because he warms the kidneys, she protested. In response to my objection that in times of climate change, nobody, not even a traitor like them, needs kidney protectors, she said, "Be peaceful, that will cheer you up: I have not had any sex since the body." That was the decision.

The nicest thing about dressing is the idea of being undressed again.

This idea makes the body impossible. He twitches, makes dents where there were none before, you can barely get in elegant, certainly not out again. In addition, clothing should be flattering and if not that, at least interesting. The fashion of the 80s was never interesting, not even in the 80s.

The look in the mirror reveals what flatters, and that is the same with most women: skirt cut to figure (or pants), loose blouse (or shirt), high shoes, finished. Everything else is just the perfidious way of creatives to test us. As with "Go on the whole" is also true in fashion: Behind one of three trends hiding a Zonk.

If you still want to risk the 80s, you should limit yourself to details like fingerless gloves or a turquoise eyeliner. This is daring, without looking grotesque, looks modern, without being overly fashionable.

In case of any uncertainties, I recommend to fashion models - every woman needs them! - to orient.

My: Shannen Doherty (mid-90s), my fabulously stylish neighbor in the dorm (1999 - 2002) and Ali MacGraw (always). Boy George never counted among my fashion prototypes. To yours, I hope not.

Never do it: where to start? Perm. Graffiti look. Bodys. Sweater with lightning motive. Leggings with lightning motive. Sweatbands with lightning motive ...

Make sure : Listen to 80s music. She is still very okay.

Remember, if you insist on the 80s look, wear it with an ironic smile, as if only you understood the joke, but no one else. Template: Facial Expression by Model Agyness Deyn
