Marlene tries it

New look - old question. Does it look well on me? How do I carry this? Author Marlene Sørensen dares a fashionable self-experiment every month. Your current test case: Leopard pattern

Close your eyes for a moment, and imagine a woman wearing leopard print. What do you see? A millionaire's wife in Monaco? A hydrogen blonde with the complexion of a leather bag? A footballer woman with fake breasts who involuntarily starts to purr at the sight of a striker? I saw it all. And none of that was good.

Now it is said that you have to look at leopard patterns completely new. The deeply decollated satinnumbers wander into the garbage. Instead, the print is now available on fluttering silk dresses . And on tube pants . On t-shirts, bags and shoes. In color combinations that do not occur in nature: green and pink, turquoise and yellow, gray and black . And it looks inexplicably good. As if Victoria Beckham had turned into Kate Moss overnight. In the shop, I would have passed a leo sample anyway. Too much. Too obvious. That's not why I'm sure. So why bother? And I'm even jealous of women who just try on a store, what they find interesting, rather than just what they say fits them. For everything that may not work then is often a part of it that looks amazingly good. I think rather: if this leopard pattern, then as a scarf .

As you can see, I do not wear a scarf here. Luckily. Because so? With the almost opaque top? The waisted skirt? The back cut? Not directly like a jungle cat, but quite sharp. On the way to a housewarming party in the evening (I insisted we walk, with the aisle) no one looked any longer than usual. Not that I had paid attention. I was too busy checking every shop window to see if I recognized myself. My friend greeted me: "How good you look! What did you do? Facial? Yoga? No! It's the pony! " It's also new since the day.

Styling tips:

  • In new color combinations - as here in gray and black - the leopard pattern looks less provocative, but still pretty eye-catching.
  • Leopard patterns combine, for example, a pantyhose with stilettos.
  • Shop in the store pretending not to shop for yourself but for a bolder girlfriend. Honestly.
