Anyone who believes that you have always been able to see that is wrong. The two little gray check marks that used to be behind WhatsApp messages were rather a confirmation that the messages were delivered to the other's phone - but not that he had read them.
But this is now possible with the new feature, which consists of two blue check marks . Gone are the days when we wondered if our best friend knows we were late for the girls' evening, or was there agonizing uncertainty about whether HE had actually seen the nice words about the last meeting .
By the way: If you want to know the exact time when something has been read, you can hold the Message Info display in WhatsApp by holding down the message for a longer time.
