Warm winter knitting instructions for a nice hot water bottle cover

What would winter be like without a hot water bottle? We can not do without it in the season and have knitted a cover for even more coziness.

What you need for the hot water bottle cover:

  • Schachenmayr / SMC Extra Merino (100% virgin wool, length approx. 130 m / 50 g), 100 g in cream pink, Fb 00036
  • Milward Needle no. 3-4
  • about 1m color matching satin ribbon

And this is how it's done:

Knitting tension:
10 x 10 cm = 22 stitches x 30 rows

Rib:
Knit 2 stitches on the right, knit 2 stitches on the left

Smooth right:
Work in rows to the right, knit in reverse rows on the left, knit all stitches in rounds on the right

Ajourmuster:
1st round. * 1 YO, K 1, K 2, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, B, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K, K
2 rounds. * Knit 2 stitches on the right side, 1 YO, repeat from *, finish with 1 YO

Completion:
Cast on 88 stitches (22 stitches per needle) with needle size pin and close to round, * knit 8 rounds to the right, 2 rounds in the ajour pattern, repeat from * 7 times until a height of about 30 cm is reached. Continue to knit 8 rounds in the rib pattern, then knit the 1 round of the ajour pattern for the row of holes in the drawstring. Continue to knit in the cuff pattern until a total height of 37 cm is reached. Bind off the loops loosely, close the bottom in a stitch stitch. Pull the satin ribbon through the row of holes.
