Now it gets maritime

In the bath starts and ends the day - reason enough to do it nicely.

Great restyling action at our home: A simple, white bath becomes a maritime wellness oasis. How did we succeed? Convince yourself in our before-and-after comparison.

PREVIOUSLY

The transformation was based on a white bath. Vanity and mirrors, but also colors and accessories make the look of sea breeze.

AFTER: As in the Mediterranean

Picture above: The light white of wall paneling and furniture provides the light blue accessories for coastal flair. Typical maritime elements such as starfish (see washbasin shelf) or a storm lantern (next to the towel stack) also create holiday mood.

Styling in the bathroom - that's how the maritime look succeeds

1. Combine materials: Wood is typical of the maritime look. These accessories from basket or sisal. Also untreated, because the natural tones awaken holiday memories of dunes and sandy beaches, jetties and flotsam.

2. Browse flea markets: Antique accessories such as an old lifebuoy or a buoy attract attention. Alternative: Internet shops, such as www.hanseheld.de

3. Blue: Coastal flair without the color of the sea? Unthinkable! In light blue nuances, accessories seem more airy than in a more powerful tone. But that's a matter of taste.

Throw anchor ...

... preferably on a towel. Draw anchor motif on paper, cut out and place on the fabric. Trace outlines, cut out the fabric anchor and sew on the towel.

Two in one

Behind the mirror in the Scandinavian style hides a small closet for stowing beauty paraphernalia. The building instructions are HERE

Whether bath cubes or bath salt - both are quickly made by yourself and a great gift idea. For about 8-10 cubes, melt 130 g cocoa butter with 60 g vegetable oil in a water bath. Stir 20 ml of "Fluidlecithin Super" (eg on Amazon), drizzle food coloring sparingly. Fill mass in ice cube container and allow to cool. Then squeeze out of the container and possibly pack in a cellophane bag. The instructions for the bath salt can be found HERE
