Dentist from Sydney pleads guilty

This story should definitely not tell those who are already afraid of visiting the dentist anyway.

Completely unscrupulous: To earn more money, a Sydney dentist has sold additional treatments to his patients, some of which were unnecessary and not all his patients had agreed to.

In 2011, Andrew Istephan worked on behalf of Elderlink, which among other things offers dental services to seniors. He treated nursing home residents and enriched themselves by selling unnecessary treatments to the elderly, some of whom even suffered from dementia.

As early as 2013, Istephan was sentenced to a two-year intensive correction order due to the fact that he had five of his patients brushing their teeth in order to be able to offer them crowns. This punishment can include at least 32 hours of community service per month as well as state supervision.

Now, Andrew Istephan pleaded guilty in three other cases . The next hearing is in December.
