Only prejudices?

Abroad, we Germans are known for our beer and our cars. But that's not all. So tourists think about us ...

All Scots are stingy. All Italians are macho. All Spaniards are unpunctual. All Dutchmen drive a motorhome. These are just a few prejudices that get in the head when you think of a particular nation.

And the same goes for people outside the German border.

Often we Germans are depicted abroad as beer-drinking, sauerkraut- eating and punctual-loving people.

Typically German : The men are called Hans, have a beer belly and wear leather pants. The women are called Heidi, yodel and have a dirndl . As a German one then asks the question: are we so one-sided? Are there other things that are considered typically German ? The answer is yes!

An Australian woman has now written down her impressions, which she experienced during her time in Münster, under the title "What I Know About Germans" and blogged on Überlin under the synonym "Liv of A Big Life".

First, the list was only 78 points. In order to fill the last 22 places of the top 100, experienced tourists were called to debate with. And they did that abundantly.

The topic is like a bomb. It was discussed without ceasing, about things that are typically German . About our winter-proof clothing, allotments, gnomes, sparkling water, the Deutsche Bahn and much, much more.

Even as a German you have his real pleasure in the explanations. Is there just a spark of truth everywhere ...
