New facts about the crime and the perpetrator Sanel M. raise more and more questions. It is not yet clear exactly how it came about that the confrontation ended so tragically.

Against the background of this criminal record, the act of Sanel M. hardly seems to be surprising. His biography provides enough evidence for what the 18-year-old is capable of. Could the attack that killed the courageous Tuğçe Albayrak have possibly been prevented if the law had already been enforced harder?
Due to his age, it is expected that Sanel M. will also be led before the juvenile court judge in this case. If juvenile justice is used, the young man, who is responsible for the death of a 23-year-old, faces imprisonment ranging from six months to ten years. Despite the fatal outcome of the crime, a higher sentence is actually not possible if juvenile justice is used.
