Model Melanie Gaydos suffers from a hereditary disease called ectodermal dysplasia. She has no hair, her teeth and nails are missing. Her complexion is also changed. But she does not want to change. She has learned to like herself as she is.

The young woman in the video is happy with herself. But that was different for a long time. Melanie Gaydos did not always dare to show herself so open and completely natural. As a result, Melanie Gaydos had to undergo between 30 and 40 operations at a young age. She always wore wigs and did not show what she really looks like. Her family did not support Melanie. In an interview with StyleLikeU she talks about alcohol abuse, insults and maltreatment as well as suicidal thoughts.

As a child, she always believed that she would not live to see her 18th birthday. Maybe she would be killed by an accident. The idea of killing herself came later to Melanie Gaydos. Fortunately, this never happened.

For modeling, the young woman found three years ago. Her friend, a photographer, brought her closer to the fashion world and encouraged Melanie to start modeling.

When Melanie meets other models, it is always associated with stress. Often you do not know what to do with her, do not know how to handle her. It is a difficult topic - we do not just look at the young woman in the video. We also hear it when her voice breaks when she speaks. But it's the others who are the problem, not Melanie. That's what the brave woman keeps saying.

Style has nothing to do with what we wear. It's about making us feel good in our skin. It's about our thinking. A profound message that is worth taking seriously. Here is the video interview of Melanie Gaydos in full length.
