No fries or burgers - what a McDonald's store in Sydney offers has nothing to do with McDonald's's usual fast food products. Crisp salads, grilled panini and vegetarian dishes - McDonald's is getting well !
McDonald's wants to go with the trend in the future, explains manager Cameron Newlands of the British dailymail. Away from greasy dishes to healthy dishes - this could be the new concept of the fast food giants. 'The Corner' is the name of McDonald's newest store, which is more reminiscent of a hip bistro rather than a world-renowned fast food restaurant.
On the menu: tofu, rice and vegetables. Not to forget: Lebanese lentils, Israeli couscous, Moroccan chicken, aubergines and pumpkin - a salad bar that should appeal to figure-conscious gourmets.
Not only the design, but also the daily changing coffee offer reminds of the big McCafé-competitor 'Starbucks'. Latte macchiato and cappuccino are served with a heart-shaped milk froth, apple leaf and McFlurry are replaced by lovely cupcakes and sweet macarons. Not quite as healthy, but in line with the trend. And that's what manager Cameron Newlands is all about.
Create your taste
Just recently, McDonald's launched the ' Create your taste ' project. A campaign that asks you to create your own burger. The burgers are not served as usual in cardboard boxes, but on the plate and gallantly held together by a toothpick.
McDonald's wants more: The fast-food giant would like to offer a delivery service in the future, accompanied by an order option on the iPad.
