You need this for the handbag:

Photo: Deco & Style
- 400 g light brown wool, length approx. 48 m / 50 g
- Circular needle, No. 7-8, L 80 cm
- 2 auxiliary needles
- darning needle
- 1 pair of braided bag handles, made of brown leather
And that's how easy it is:
Cast on 144 stitches to knit, mark the lap transition with a contrast thread, and continue to work the cable pattern in rounds. At approx. 30 cm, reduce the left stitches as follows: Knit the 3rd right stitch with the 1st left stitch on the right, knit the 3rd left stitch with the 1st stitch on the right (= 96 stitches).
Knit 3 rounds in the described border pattern. In the 4th round, work the lace pattern for the drawstring, then continue in the waistband pattern until a waistband pattern height of 6 cm is reached. Then bind off the stitches as they appear.
Sew all threads. Sew the lower edge of the bag in stitch stitch and fasten the pocket handles. Make a cord from the remaining wool (about 1.2 m) and thread through the row of holes. Close the bag with a bow.
Tips:
Mesh sample: 16 stitches and 16 rounds = 10 x 10 cm.
For the cable pattern, the mesh size must be divisible by 12. It is knitted in rounds. A pattern repeat comprises 16 rounds; the 1st -16. Repeat round.
