We print fabric panels

Beautiful sayings are always allowed to accompany our lives and can also be a life motto every day.

Everybody knows proverbs that are a real help in some life situations and carry us through the day like a motto. We want to put our favorite mantra on the wall as a decoration idea - and that with the help of textile printing . How to do that is revealed in our DIY guide .

What you need for the wall decoration:

  • Computer and printer
  • white or pastel-colored fabric (as fine a fabric as possible)
  • Transfer foil for T-shirts and textiles
  • Iron
  • Yarn in contrasting color to the fabric
  • needle
  • scissors
  • thin rod (wood or plastic), about 6-8 cm wider than the later suspended fabric
  • two little nails and a hammer

Sayings for the wall - the instructions:

1.? Fabric (ideal: white, beige or pastel - on which the print is best visible) cut to the desired size. Do not mess up the edges.

2.? Tap the selected poem or spell into a writing program on the computer. Paper size: A4 landscape. For longer poems, divide the individual stanzas on several sheets (transfer foil has DIN A4 format).

3.? Print the text mirror-inverted on the coated front side of the transfer ribbon (adjustable for most printers during the printing process).

4.? If using an inkjet printer, allow the print to dry for about 30 minutes.

5.? Cut out motif with an edge of approx. 5 mm.

6.? Set the iron to the highest setting. Make sure that the steam function is completely switched off.

7.? On a smooth, hard surface (eg tabletop, covered with several wrinkle-free towels) place the motif face down on the fabric.

8th.? Iron with constant, steady pressure for about 90 seconds. Make sure that all edges of the motif are also reached with the middle of the iron.

9.? Let the fabric cool down completely and then the
Carefully and evenly remove backing paper.

10.? At the upper end, fold the fabric approx. 6 cm forward and sew it by hand with large stitches. Let the ends of the yarn hang down. Through the resulting loop pull the narrow rod to hang.

11.? Slap two small nails slightly diagonally upwards into the wall. The distance between the nails results from the width of the fabric plus 2 cm. Finally, put a rod with printed fabric on top.
