wages

In general, you should ask in advance whether the working day or the working week is paid for the rehearsal or not. Because that can save you a lot of trouble. As a rule, you will be paid for your work, because after all, the boss earns money from you - for example, when you take on clients as a hairdresser on your rehearsal day.

But you should definitely clarify in advance how much you get. Your hourly wage should not be less than two-thirds of the usual salary paid in the industry.

If there is no agreement on the salary, is paid, what else is usual for this work, so for example by tariff. This is anchored by law in the Civil Code (BGB) ยง 612.

It looks a bit different if your supervisor does not order you to work, but only to "get a taste".

Then there is a so-called "empathy ratio" in which you can get an overview of yourself and get to know colleagues. There is no need to pay for it.

Decisive for the demarcation of trial employment relationship and empathy is whether the boss pretends what, when and where to work, ie exercises his right to direct, or whether he just lets you watch.
