"LAURA living creative" editor Nina Bemmann reveals how she designed the cuddly bedroom look in shabby chic in her own home.

"I need a touch of romance"

My bedside table is white with subtle embellishments. With a drawer for my favorite jewelery - because otherwise there are always rings, chains or bracelets around. Obendrauf must of course be room for a pretty lamp, a book and my nostalgia alarm clock. That I am secretly a romantic, you can feel in the whole bedroom . Furniture with a few flourishes and ruffled bed linen in white or delicate pastel tones make me breathe easy.

Picture above: Elegant restraint is shown in this bedroom with Vertigo. For many pillows, I usually take plain sheets. Small decorative elements like the loops here may be anyway. My tip: Often a few selected accessories such as a few pillows or a bedspread with a lace edge are enough to make a room look more feminine.

Shabby Chic: harmony in white

Such a bedroom in shabby chic is exactly my style. I like bright, friendly rooms - white and creamy tones are also dominant in my home. In addition, I combine accessories in copper, cuddly fabrics and mood lights. That's how it gets really nice.

Most important, of course, is the right bed. With its carvings on the curved head and foot parts and the squiggly feet, this cream-colored frame made of mahogany matches my expectations.

Shining lotus
