A birthday song for Teresa of Ávila

To honor the 500th anniversary of the Catholic Saint Teresa of Ávila, 93 nuns from 24 countries joined forces to sing her a very special birthday song on a virtual stage.

It's a stunning and beautiful video created using modern technology. For the 500th anniversary of the birthday of the Catholic Saint Teresa of Ávila, a Carmelite nun from Reno (Nevada, USA) had the idea of creating a virtual choir where nuns from all over the world could participate.

France, USA, Australia, Spain, Netherlands, Singapore and also Indonesia: Altogether 93 nuns from 24 different countries took part in the musical project. Together they sang Teresa of Ávila's famous words 'Nada Te Turbe' (English: 'Do not be distracted by anything'), on the basis of which a separate song was written.

The nuns received technical support from Scott Haines, who created the virtual stage for the nuns. Through Haines homepage each participating Carmelite could listen to the music, download their respective part of the song and sing it in the end. All audio and video recordings were finally edited by Scott Haines at his studio in Kansas City (USA).

Nobody should miss this beautiful video. We got goose bumps while listening.
