SARS: definition, causes and course of disease

SARS is a severe respiratory infection. The full name of the disease is "Severe Aktues Respiratory Syndrome". SARS was unknown for a long time. SARS spreads very easily. There is no cure for SARS and the mortality rate is high. Air travelers carry the responsible virus all over the world. In 2002 many doctors feared that we were facing such a catastrophe. SARS can only be prevented by completely avoiding contact with infected persons and animals. In acute danger of infection wearing a respirator prevents infection.
