Red and white in the living room

A new space four times different - variant 2

Effectively, cost-effectively and without much effort, color can be used as a magic medium to change the mood in the room.

Red is the invigorating element of this consistently white interior. It is enough to paint a wall over a large area, but not completely. The result is a color fund that combines paint shelves and closet and at the same time has a calming effect. The repetition of the intense red color of the panel curtains acts as a counterweight to the wall paint.

As barren and barren as an empty new space seems, so are the chances to give it a distinctive character. Four examples illustrate how furniture, fabrics, colors and accessories enliven the empty shell in different ways

White stands out clearly

When visitors come, the table with aluminum frame and white lacquered plate grows beyond itself. The surface can be increased from 90 x 90 cm to 180 x 90 cm, so that up to six people have space.

Tip from the expert: Coloring Take your time. Test the color effect on the spot, in daylight and lamplight, by stroking a plywood board in the desired tone and placing it there. The larger the better. Is the tone right? Should he be brighter or shine more? Only one thing helps: try it out!

Fabric in the closet

The inside of the cabinet back wall was lined with the red-white curtain fabric. The effort is worthwhile, because the hinged door, which serves as a storage area within reach of the table, is usually open, so that the fabric is also visible

Tip from the expert: Repeat the wall paint in the room so that it does not look isolated. Panel curtains pick them up here and combine them with the dominant white at the same time. Since they are attached with Velcro, they can be exchanged in no time, if the favorite color changes.
