Thirty years ago, the famous actress died

Her life was full of ups and downs ... until death ended much too soon.

On May 29, 1982, the news hit like a bomb: Romy Schneider, 43, was found dead in her Paris apartment!

Suicide? Too much alcohol? Tablets? On the death certificate was only: heart failure. Later, however, it was often said: She died of a broken heart.

And that sounds believable. Millions loved the beautiful actress - but she never found the great love of her life.

Already as a child, the movie star hardly got attention. Their famous parents Magda Schneider († 1996) and Wolf Albach-Retty († 1967) never had time, were far too often in front of the camera. Romy Schneider made her first film at the age of 15, and two years later she became famous as "Sissi".

Privately her life was under no good star. Her first great love, actor Alain Delon (now 76), betrayed and left her. The marriage with actor Harry Meyen († 54) failed.

Her whole happiness was son David. In 1975, Romy Schneider married her private secretary Daniel Biasini (63 today) - and suffered a miscarriage. In 1977, daughter Sarah was born. But fate knew no mercy: In 1979, ex-husband Harry Meyen took his own life.

A year later, Romy had to remove a kidney. However, her pain was unbearable when son David († 14) was impaled while climbing over a sharp iron fence and died. At that time Romy's second divorce took place, and her strength was at an end.

Yet, a year later, just days before her death, it seemed as though she wanted to make a fresh start with French film producer Laurent Pétin (63 years old today). The movie star was looking for a house in the country. "It's a life that embodies peace for me, family and security, " said Romy Schneider. It was not granted to her.
