With great applause, refugees were greeted at the Munich main station last weekend. The images of this warm welcome are now going around the world, sending a message we should always remember.

In total, more than 20, 000 refugees arrived at Munich Central Station last weekend. On Saturday alone, there were more than 7, 000 people. You were treated to a warm welcome.

With applause, sweets, cuddly toys and cheers, the refugees were greeted and earned many faces smiling with gratitude. The pictures of these scenes now go around the world.

The BBC posted a video of this welcome scene at the Munich station on your Facebook page on the weekend and earned 355, 000 likes for the entry. The clip has since been shared over 346, 000 times. The comments on the welcome of the refugees: very positive.

With these pictures, Germany has been in the news for a long time with positive news. Even more: these pictures send a positive message. Germany is shown as a country that stands for warmth, humanity and helpfulness.

That's exactly what we should preserve. We should always remember those special moments when people's helpfulness is so beautifully expressed. Because it must not abate when everyday life breaks over us and everything revolves around the integration of the refugees.

We do not know how many people will have to flee their home countries in the next few days, weeks and months. But we know how we will welcome them: just like last weekend in Munich.
