His photos show beauty in all its facets

The photographer Rick Guidotti already had supermodels like Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer in front of his camera. But for his new project, he leaves behind the glittering world of fashion too happy.

For a long time, Rick Giudotti is good at fashion as a fashion photographer . He has worked with brands like L'Oreal and Revlon as well as with world-famous magazines like Elle or GQ . In front of the lens of his camera different supermodels already lolled. But he only too gladly leaves this world after one very special little girl meets him one afternoon.

This little girl was born with the genetic disease albinism, which means her body has less pigment. Skin, hair and eye color are therefore very bright. People who live with this genetic disorder are probably mostly accustomed to curious stare and whisper. Even photographer Rick Guidotti can hardly take his eyes off the little girl when he met her on a walk through the streets of New York. But for a completely different reason: he was overwhelmed by her beauty.

Searching for photos of people with Albisnismus, Guidotti found that there were no photographs that would do justice to their actual beauty. For the photographer, this was like a wake-up call. He wanted to do his part so that not only those born with a genetic disease, but also their fellow human beings realize how beautiful they really are.

Now part of the Positive Exposure charitable project, it has photographed many people, especially children with genetic diseases, helping them to accept themselves and love themselves.

Rick Giudotti himself says about his work: "People always say 'But you know, their inner beauty is more important' (...) But this is about beauty, this is not inner beauty, these children are beautiful."

Asked how he, as a fashion photographer, came to photograph people with genetic diseases, Rick Giudotti has the perfect answer: "You know, I've never photographed a genetic disease in my life, I've always photographed beauty, I always have People take pictures. "

Meanwhile, a film is dedicated to this topic. Below you can see the trailer for 'On Beauty'. The film can currently be seen at international film festivals.
