Fancy a good mood?

Allow me: I am a quokka, a short-tailed kangaroo and live in Australia. Maybe you have already seen me. Recently I am something of a star. I have thousands of fans on the internet since nice people put nice photos of me and my friends on the net .

People just think I'm cute and say I'm the luckiest animal in the world . If that's true? Of course there are days, I do not feel that way. For example when the fox sneaks dangerously close around me and my friends. Or when I think that we Quokkas officially considered a threatened species. But, I guarantee you: you will not notice.

You do not have a reputation for nothing

Finally, I have a reputation to lose. You will not be the happiest animal in the world when you are muddled through the area as a mourning dumpling. My approximately 8, 000 to 17, 000 conspecifics and I live in western Australia, especially on Rottnest Island - and we have a motto: always smiling friendly! We can do it in our sleep, no joke! Granted, nature was fine with us. I confess that I can not get enough of the nice descriptions about us on the internet: "small", "spherical", "cuddly", "friendly" with "curious, shiny button eyes" and a "naturally cheerful charisma". Sounds nice, right? Are we, too, honestly.

Cats? Who else cares about cats?

But do you know what really makes us really happy? That we the cats, for us second biggest land plague after foxes, on the Internet scratching the paint. Sorry, cat fans, but I have to smile a bit at the thought. Let's see if somebody will be watching cat pictures on the internet soon!

In any case, we're conquering lots of hearts right now. Because we have a very special ability. Maybe you even noticed it when you discovered me on the top of the photo: Anyone looking at us inevitably starts to smile. We Quokkas are just in a good mood . That makes us really proud and might well justify the reputation as the happiest animal in the world .

Feel-good family pictures

Come and visit us and marvel at us locally in Australia, near Perth. We would really be happy. But, oh, what am I talking about? That's a long way off for you, is not it? No problem, I already have another idea: just look at the good mood pictures of my friends and relatives here on the page - and we'll smile together for a lap. Best regards, your Quokka
