It was not expected that early: Princess Madeleine of Sweden is pregnant and expecting her first child in March 2014 ! That's what Madeleine and her husband Christopher O'Neill officially announced.
In an interview Chris had said after the wedding. "We are both very family-oriented and, if granted, we also want to have children at some point." Madeleine added, "Right now, we enjoy being newly married."
The expectant mother Madeleine of Sweden is doing well, they say. So there are no signs of bad pregnancy symptoms like Duchess Kate. Therefore, there will be no change in the royal program. Princess Madeleine will take in the autumn, all promised appointments.
But now comes the big question: Where will Madeleine give birth to her first child ? Currently she lives with her husband Chris in New York, where both work. The Swedes would love it if their princess then comes home. That would certainly make her critics reconciled, who always complain that Madeleine lives abroad and thus would not have enough time for her royal duties.
For the time being, however, it was planned that Madeleine and Chris stay in America. That could change with the pregnancy . Could the princess then get home sooner than planned in Sweden? Would her husband Chris be so happy with that?
The pregnancy of Princess Madeleine will bring much luck to the couple, but again require some decisions that will not please everyone. But as long as the Swedes have their Crown Princess Victoria, they will also have enough room in their hearts for a pregnant Madeleine living abroad ...
