What would the RTL news be without him - and he without his wife!

Quiet, thorough, thoughtful - you can rely on Peter Kloeppel (53). For 20 years, the TV presenter has been the face of "RTL Aktuell", is considered one of the most popular newsmen on German television. He also gives 100 percent as editor-in-chief. What would the RTL news be without him! And he without his Carol (48): As we learned in the interview, she is always there for him. Behind every successful man is just a strong woman ...

You are a busy man. How do you switch off after work?

Peter Kloeppel : That's not so difficult. During the drive home, I can come down quite well. At home, I like to sit with my wife and daughter at dinner. We talk, I drink another glass of wine and the TV usually stays off for the time being.

How does your wife handle that you have little free time?

Peter Kloeppel : She does not know that any different: She has worked on television herself and knows what it means to be married to a journalist who has a show every day.

What do you appreciate most about Carol?

Peter Kloeppel : She is a great woman! She is happy, affectionate, intelligent. She is what one wishes for as a husband. A faithful mother of course, too. She always has good ideas. For me it is just a sunshine.

How often do you compliment her?

Peter Kloeppel : I hope every day (laughs).

Are you the type of man who likes to surprise women?

Peter Kloeppel : I would not say that now. I'm more of a predictable type.

Her daughter Geena is only 15 years old and writes songs. Do you support them?

Peter Kloeppel : Oh, I do not support her directly now, but we are happy that she has something to do with her talent. If she ever doubts and we can stand by her side, then we'll do it. But otherwise she has to stand on her own.

You could become famous with it. What do you, as a well-known TV personality, give her along the way?

Peter Kloeppel : In this regard, I do not advise her. She enjoys the music and wants to share her talent with others. What comes next, nobody knows.

Geena once said in an interview that if she is a bit worried, write her a song. What do you do?

Peter Kloeppel : In principle, I would sometimes wish that I had the opportunity to write songs. But I'm looking for someone with whom I can talk about it. This is first and foremost my wife - she always has good advice.
