But: Which piece needs to be immediately in our grocery bag and what better way to stay on the shelf? We conducted an interview with Mrs. Stepanenko, Personal Shopper at Breuninger in the Flagship Store, to get to the bottom of the mystery of "own style".
Finding our own style often occupies us for a lifetime. Do you have any tips to simplify the search?
The best approach: try it out and sometimes be brave. Take a leisurely stroll through the city, browse through magazines or look at shop windows, offering the perfect inspiration. If you're looking for something new, you should just browse, experiment and be inspired. Colors, silhouettes, fabrics, combinations - Are there general rules that apply to every woman type?
If you follow a few basic rules, then compliments are guaranteed to come by itself. Generally, it is only buy what is 100% fits and fits the type. The attention of skin and figure type is essential for a type-appropriate styling. Garments that pinch or color just do not fit the type quickly become short-selling and cabinet wardens.
Chinos, for example, are the absolute all-round talent this season, as they are available in many different types and are wearable on many occasions.
What is it worth spending a lot of money on and which garment should you choose better and cheaper?
Bags and shoes are daily companions, are everywhere and are always in the focus of consideration - therefore it is called "invest"! For bags, the shape of the bag is and is very much in vogue - very practical because it fits in everything that women need. In addition, the bag is a wonderful companion both at work and at the restaurant in the evening. Again, it pays to spend a bit more money for the desired model.
When it comes to shoes, you should rely on classics and value good quality. High heels, toe sandals and ballerinas are perfectly combinable with any outfit, shine with a high wearing comfort and are therefore worth the price. Classic garments are generally in every wardrobe and can be easily combined by their timelessness. My tip: Invest in quality. The must-haves include a monochrome black trouser suit, a perfectly fitting white blouse, a pair of matching jeans, a cardigan and an elegant pair of high heels. The fact that the investment is worthwhile and that classics are once again becoming trendy parts is currently being seen in the example of the trench coat. He is absolutely in again.
Depending on your personal style, you can then combine the "classics" with trendy pieces or buy them in other colors. This summer, for example, light cashmere cardigans in bold colors for jeans are hip and stylish at the same time. And the white blouse can be well combined with the chino.
Underdressed and Overdressed - Is there a rule of thumb always to be appropriately dressed?
Most important rule of thumb: In case of uncertainty, it is important to clarify before the event whether and which dress code there is. If there is no information on the invitation, the host should be asked. If the dress code is "BlackTie", for example, you absolutely have to adhere to it. It will not work without a tuxedo and a black bow tie for him - and women will have to wear a floor-length evening gown. Fashionable experiments are not recommended. Here you can shine through a perfectly fitting tuxedo or a dreamy robe quite more than creative styling.
For casual occasions or a dinner with friends there is a priority: you have to feel comfortable and the outfit must fit the lifestyle. Only then does the outfit look. Trend-conscious customers who can travel in trendy locations, if there is no dress code, risk something: blurring the boundaries between overdressing and underdressing. An example of this is the material mix, tunics with rich jewelery embroidery and a rough leather jacket, or in the winter an airy silk dress in a romantic flower print and a coarse oversized cardigan.
