Oh dear! NRW: Drinking water is scarce in these cities!

Due to the continuing heat, the first cities in North Rhine-Westphalia are already suffering from water scarcity.

In East Westphalia, water providers are struggling with drinking water bottlenecks. "Due to the continuing drought there is water shortage, " reported the city of Löhne (Minden-Lübbecke). Affected are the cities of Löhne, Bad Oeynhausen and the communities Hüllhorst and Hille in the area of ​​the water procurement association "Am Wiehen" with about 120 000 people.

Citizens are urged to refrain from blasting their gardens and filling pools with drinking water. "Even working with high-pressure cleaners must be avoided, " it says in the call of the city.
